HOW FAR WILL YOU GO TO FIND THE ONE?

Airlines getting into the matchmaking business? Is this the new way to boost sales in a dwindling market? Virgin got it started with their chat feature between all seats on their flights, but Air New Zealand has taken it to a whole other level. They've set up a flight from LAX to Auckland on Oct. 13th expressly for people looking to meet their soul mates. They'll have pre-flight parties, on-board food & activities, & post-flight parties to encourage mingling. There's an online group you can join ahead of time to check out the profiles of your fellow passengers and start conversations before hand and of course a host of romantic travel packages to choose from once you arrive. All for the low price of $580, if you book before the 18th...

Sounds a little like the newest reality TV show premise, but maybe that's just the cynic in me talking. It should be an interesting social experiment. That flight to Auckland could be a long 13 hours for some...

  2. Yeah, for a $500 ticket to New Zealand- I could definitely put up with all the crazies.
